COLLEGE/CAREER
MINISTRY
Our College/Career Ministry exists with a mission to reach the world
with the message of Jesus Christ, uniting Christians together,
equipping them in their faith, and to challenge them to serve others
while they lift up God with their own life. To help equip, we offer
a weekly Bible Study Group on Sunday mornings, as well as, monthly
events. In the early stages of this ministry, we seek ways to impact
the lives of others around us. We welcome you to come and be a part
of this new and exciting opportunity for those ages 18-29. This
ministry is open to both local students and those away at various
schools.
“CONNECTING”/ASSIMILATION
As new believers and regular attenders become a part of the Gate
City family, several opportunities exist to help people connect to
GCBC. Two 3-week classes, “Discovering Church Membership” and “The
Next Step” take members through the first steps in the discipleship
journey. Participants learn about the many ministries of the church,
how to become a member of the church, and Gate City’s unique vision
and ministry. Basic steps of learning spiritual disciplines,
discovering one’s spiritual gifts, and completing a spiritual growth
plan are also key components of these classes.
Joining a Sunday School class or an adult Bible study provides
another chance to connect into the life of GCBC. Fellowship, care,
and other “inreach” activities within these small groups contribute
to the assimilating of new members.
Additionally, there are numerous ministry groups that allow new
believers and new members to serve. By utilizing their God-given
gifts, talents, and abilities, people further connect by serving in
meaningful ministry experiences.

MEN’S MINISTRIES
It is the desire of the Gate City Baptist Men’s Ministry to build
and strengthen our relationship with God, with our families, with
other men, with our church and with the world.
Current activities include trips to Promise Keepers Conferences,
Golf Tournaments, Prayer Breakfasts, and Prayer Partners. Future
plans include Men’s Ministry dinners with challenging Christian
speakers as an outreach to the men of our community.
