has been Senior Pastor of Gate City Baptist Church since
1993. David and his wife, Lisa, have three grown children,
Mandy, Michael and Matthew. David is passionate about seeing
lives transformed by the power of God’s Word and believes
his mission in life is to meet people where they are and to
bring them to where God wants them to be. |

Rev. Steve Turner Associate Pastor

Steve
has been serving at Gate City since 1995 and became
Associate Pastor in 2003. His primary responsibilities
include Mobilization and Assimilation. Steve and his wife,
Pattie, are the parents of three daughters, Hannah, Leah and
Micah. |

Rev. Chan Shaver Minister
of Spiritual Development / Care

Chan has been serving in
ministry at Gate City since January 2003. Chan is our
Minister of Care and Spiritual Growth & Development,
offering pastoral care to members as well as discipleship
opportunities to the adults. This includes
being the staff liaison for the adult Sunday School area.
Chan and his wife, Kim, are the parents of teenagers Paul
and Ashley. |

Michael Horton Minister
of Evangelism

Michael has been serving at
Gate City
since early 1993. He became the Minister of Evangelism/
Worship Leader in 2004. Michael and his wife Erin have
started their family with their son Jeremy. |

Jay Rowe Youth Minister

Jay was called to Gate City in
September 07 to be the Student Minister. Jay's passion and
purpose is to lead students to the throne of Grace and to
run on the sidelines encouraging students to run the race
God has called them to. Jay and his wife Amy have 3
children; Jason, Allyson, and Dylan. |

Beth Whitman Director of Children's Ministries

Beth
has been in Children's Ministry for 12 years and became
Director of Children's Ministry for Gate City in 2002. Her
primary responsibilities include all aspects of the
Preschool & Children's Ministry, and helping families to
grow together in the Lord. Beth and her husband, Roger have
4 children, Charlie, Jessica, Justin & Erin. |

Karen Peters Choir Director
Karen
has served as pianist at Gate City since 2002 and as adult
choir director since 2004. She also accompanies the Salem
Academy Glee Club and teaches piano students in her
Winston-Salem home. Karen and her husband are the parents of
two boys, Caleb and Matthew. |
